Armando was born on May 21,1928 in Sant’ Elia, Italy, the oldest of six children of Benedetto and Giovanna (Fionda) Fallone. As an infant, Armando was raised by his maternal grandparents in Belfast, Ireland. They owned an ice cream store and lived above the store. Although not yet a citizen, Armando received a draft notice and willingly joined the Army in 1951. He served in Korea during the Korean War and, upon his honorable discharge, became a citizen of the United States. After the service, he worked in the automotive industry as a machinist/tool maker until his retirement.
In 1993, Armando moved to Las Vegas, Nevada (along with his cousin Alex Fionda and wife Linda). Armando embraced the Nevada lifestyle, fully enjoying horse racing and the great restaurants in the area.
Armando was the oldest of his siblings and never married or had children. He was preceded in death by his parents, his infant sister Nicola, his brother Rudolfo and his sisters Rosa Craig and Angelina Caffola, all of Ireland and his sister Ines Rea of Binghamton, New York. He also is preceded in death by his American cousins Ben Fionda, Louise McBurney and Alex Fionda. Armando is survived by his 9 nieces and nephews in Ireland and 5 nieces and nephews in New York and Texas, along with their spouses and children.
