Anthony Joseph Perrella, 70, of Las Vegas, NV., went to be with the Lord on May 17, 2013 after battling cancer for the last 6 years. He was born in Boulder, CO., to Anthony & Mary Perrella.Tony graduated with a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from theUniversity of Wyoming. He was most proud for having designed and worked on the communication system used on the Apollo 11 Space Program; allowing Neil Armstrong's words ‘That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind’ to be heard. He was a Master of the4th Degree of the Knights of Columbus. Tony was also a charter member of the Holy Spirit Council and the Father Joseph O’Callaghan Assembly. Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Pamela Jo Perrella; daughter, Kathleen & son-in-law, JimPistolesi and grandson, DantePistolesi . The family would like thank the doctors at Comprehensive Cancer Center of Nevada and the ICU staff at Southern Hills Hospital for all their excellent care of Tony. The family will be receiving friends on Friday, May 24, 2013, 4 to 7 pm, with rosary being said at 7 pm at Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Las Vegas, NV, 89146. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, May 25, 2013, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4925 S. Torrey Pines Dr. Las Vegas, NV, 89118 with burial to follow at Palm Eastern Cemetery, 7600 South Eastern Avenue, Las Vegas, NV, 89123.
