Annette Rosenberg, 89, of Henderson, NV and formerly of Sterling, CT peacefullypassed away on Oct. 27, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Brooklyn, NY and was the loving daughter of the late Minnie and Carl Fertig. After graduating from James Madison High School (NY) in 1951, she married the love of her life Gerald Rosenberg, who predeceased her on April 17, 2001. She lived a life of joy and adventure and moved the family to Israel a few months before the Six Day War in 1967; after the war they returned to the US to Laurelton, NY. They bought a farm in Sterling, CT in 1971 which they owned for 30 years. She was a member of Temple Beth Israel in Danielson, CT. She also worked at Day Kimball Hospital’s Mental Health Clinic where she retired from in 1991. Annette and Jerry wintered in FL. After Jerry passed away, she sold the farm and moved to Henderson, NV to be closer to family. She loved seeing other cultures and was often gone for months at a time on worldwide cruises traveling alone and making many friends. She had a thirst for knowledge. When she wasn’t on a cruise ship, she was attending Learning in Retirement programs in FL (NOVA) and NV (UNLV). When she moved to assisted living in 2019, she was the resident educator and taught a class in Jewish History. She has been laid to rest next to her Jerry at the Montefiore Cemetery in Springfield Gardens, NY.
Annette Rosenberg is survived by her brother Sam Fertig; children: Allen Rosenberg, Jack (Elaine) Rosenberg, Judy (Dawn) Rosenberg; grandchildren: Bryan (Tabetha) Rosenberg, Ari (Nancy) Rosenberg, Jacob, Benjamin, and their mother Lauren Rosenberg; grandchildren: David (Suzy) Rosenberg, Sarah (Keith) Laferriere, and their mother Marianne Hawkins; great grandchildren: Kaleb, Skarlit, and Jeremiah; and niece Beth Fertig.
