Annette Israel, 84, passed on August 4, 2018. She was a wonderful mother who knew how to laugh and smile. She took great pride in the achievements of her children and grandchildren. She loved to bake and make fabulous meals for her family. Mom was a true life partner to our late father Harold. They were married for nearly 60 years. They moved from Canada to California one year into their marriage and built a family and a life from scratch.
They both worked immediately after arriving in Los Angeles, he as a teacher and she as a bookkeeper. Then Mom went into a twelve year retirement to raise young children. When she returned to the workforce she eventually landed in the accounting department at Universal Studios. She loved the job and she loved the place, often taking long walks on the studio backlot with co-workers during breaks.
After her second retirement Dad continued to work. In those years he made the money and she accounted for it. Eventually they bought a lot and meticulously planned their retirement home in Sun City Anthem, Nevada. They were truly proud of their home on the hill with the magnificent view.
Not long after Dad’s passing Mom went to live with Sharon in North Carolina. She suffered with progressively declining health. Those were difficult days. The entire family will remember her good times, her smile, her caring, her wonderful dinners and the deep love she so obviously felt for all of us.
She is survived by her son Ron and his wife Sara, her son Marty and his wife Cynthia, her daughter Sharon and husband Amir. She also leaves her grandchildren Kevin and his wife Jennifer, Marissa and her husband Jeff, Paul, Alisha, Mischon, Keion and one great-grandchild, Harrison.
