Ann was born February 6, 1929 in the hills of West Virginia near Wheeling. At the young age of 19, she came west to find work, and she found gentle winters and a new life in Las Vegas.
Ann was hard-working, unselfish and kind. She possessed a genuine goodness and was deeply loved by all who knew her. Alzheimer's disease slowly eroded her cognitive abilities, but Ann never lost her essential character. She was kind and loving to the end.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Italo Ghelfi, who was a founding partner at the Golden Gate Casino. She is survived by her three children, Craig I. Ghelfi, Mark Brandenburg and Sandra Gibbons; her sister, Thelma Cripe; her brother, Chris Apostolec; and several adored grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Cleveland Clinic/Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health.
A visitation will begin at 1:00pm on Friday, February 10, 2017 with a Graveside Service to follow at 3:00pm at Palm Eastern Mortuary.
