Angelo Cuva, 87 of Las Vegas passed away Saturday March 12, 2011. He was born June 18, 1923, in Omaha, Nebraska and was a Las Vegas resident since 1964. He served in the 134th Infantry Regiment of the U.S. Army during World War II. A second generation barber, he started barbering in Omaha, Nebraska. He continued his profession when he moved his family to Las Vegas. He owned and operated the Showboat Hotel and Casino barber shop until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfio " Fred" and Josephine Cuva, his sister, Louise Scolaro, and grandson, Michael Angelo Cuva. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lorraine "Lorry" Cuva, his children Fred (Anna) Cuva, John Cuva, Barbara (Stuart) Lindsey, Cheryl Mills, Robert Cuva, William Cuva and Patricia Cuva; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, all of Las Vegas, and a brother August Cuva of Omaha, Nebraska. An avid football fan, he never missed his favorite team, the Nebraska Cornhuskers play ball. His love for telling jokes and generous loving heart will be missed by all. A visitation will be held on Thursday March 17, 2011 from 1 - 7 PM with a funeral service with the veterans honor guard taking place on Friday March 18, 2011 at 10 AM all being held at Palm Mortuary 1600 South Jones Blvd. Arrangements under the direction of Palm South Jones Mortuary, Las Vegas, NV.
