Andres Rodriguez

Andres Felipe Rodriguez, age 56, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, January 28, 2024, after a long and brave battle with cancer. Born October 29, 1967, to Ramon and Blanca Rodriguez, Andy was the eldest of three Rodriguez brothers. He, along with his siblings, Ramon and Alex, attended Saint Anne Catholic School and Bishop Gorman High School. After graduating from BGHS class of 1985, Andy attended UNLV and Clark County Community College and worked as a lifeguard at the YMCA. He coordinated the nonprofit agency's lifeguard program at Desert Shores. Andy also worked at Carter and Burgess as a surveyor, but he always dreamt of a career in law enforcement. On February 8, 2006, he fulfilled his dream of being a police officer, and graduated the academy for Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. Andy (A-Rod) has served with pride and honor until his passing.

Andy is survived by his two children and one grandchild with first wife Keegan Hooks: Amelia Rodriguez and her daughter Emily, AJ Rodriguez, third child Gavin Rodriguez, stepdaughter Amber Hunt and her daughter Haylie. Finally his current wife Kimberly. Andy is preceded in death by his parents Ramon and Blanca Rodriguez, and brother Ramon Jr.

A service to honor Andy's life will be held on February 3, 2024 at 6:00PM at Palm Eastern Mortuary, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123. A reception will follow at Andy and Kim's family home, where stories will be shared and memories cherished.

Andres "Andy" Rodriguez will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. His warmth, joy and warriors spirit he brought to this world will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
