 Al, I will miss you, buddy.  Al and I first worked together back in 2006 and I’ve had the pleasure to get to know a genuine, kind-hearted soul who believed in working towards his dreams.  He was in his mid 20s at the time and full of excitement and energy for what he was going to create for his young family.   His optimism and courage to chase his goals was an inspiration. 
      He talked much about his parents and how they taught him the value of an honest day's work.   He said that his parents dared to dream and to attempt what was difficult, to aim for what seemed unreachable.   He was so proud of them, proud of how they had to overcome struggle and hardship so that he and his brother could have a better life.  This left an indelible imprint on him.   Al said to me that it was this same love and respect that he wanted to pass down to his own family.  This quote sums it up best, “Immigrant parents, with their wings cut, still teach their children to fly.”  And so, that’s what I saw Alfredo do.  He flew with bravery.  He wanted to give his daughter these wings to soar when she was ready.
     Al and I were driving down a highway in Vegas one afternoon when a motorcycle zipped past our car.  We were in a hurry ourselves to make an appointment, so we thought nothing of it.  A few minutes later, we saw this same motorcyclist had just crashed horribly along the side of the road.   Without a second thought, Al had sprung into rescue mode.  He pulled up behind the downed rider, got out of the car, and calmly eased the man’s fears.   He stabilized the man’s emotions and stayed at the crash site until EMT arrived.  This was a typical thing for Al.  Whenever and wherever  help was needed, Al was there.
     Like so many of us in life, we aren't immune to it’s turbulent seas.  We had deep conversations about life, our common humanity, our insecurities.    I only wish that we had talked more in the past year.   Al, I love you and I miss you.  Rest in peace, brother. 
      

To my biggest cousin, whom in my heart, was always more than that to me, thank you for my first date. I'll always carry that memory with me. I'll always remember your smile and your infectious laugh when you teased me 😂 every chance you got, even as adults. I hated it but I got thicker skin bc of it and man, I'm honestly going to miss it. I love you and I miss you SO much.

All these shared memories just goes to show how great of a person, friend, family you were Al.  In life a person only gets to meet some or a few people that are good and genuine...you were one of those people bro...to me and to many others. We will miss you bruddah. Rest in peace. 

Alfredo, know you are truly going to be missed! I am sad we never got to express how amazing you were to our family or the positive impact you had on us. You'll always be remembered as  humble, generous, hard-working, reliable, honest, loyal, and so much more.  We were so happy to have you at our wedding. You are truly missed and will never be forgotten. Love always

Your laughter and great energy when we all hung out at work and outside of work will always be remembered. I remember you called me to write your daughters name on my etchasketch and how you said she thought it was awesome. You owe me a selfie stick still for breaking the one i had just bought 😂. I won’t forget that day. Love you bro!! Rest easy!

Coach Alfredo your infectious smile and warm hugs were always so welcoming.  Your memory will live in our hearts forever.  You are truly missed!

I am extremely sad over this , I have no words and I don’t want to believe this really happed .  Jose, Jill , Hayden , I love you guys . Over the years you all became my family . I’m sorry that I had to move so far away from all of you. Alfredo was my best friend and became a brother to me. 
I have so many amazing memories with Fredo and all of you.  I remember one Christmas year Alfredo took me to a place where they had a Christmas tree full of angels as ornaments (each angel was a kid in need).  Alfredo took one ornament and told me that he did this every time he could and then we went to the store to buy gifts for this kid in need . 
All of us who knew him ,know that he was always helping others . He helped without asking for anything in return . He helped me many many times . 
I will forever miss you my brother , your laugh and smile , your advice and voice , I will miss your phone calls to see how I am doing .

Alfredo nuestro hermano!!! You will forever be missed!! The memories we shared with your family and mine!! We are all so heart broken and still in shock! I just can’t believe this is real. I was so happy to see him just a week ago at at soccer tournament. His decency and his great spirit to always help others are one of the best memories I have of him. Mr. Alfredo, you will be missed and all I can say is thank you for your friendship. Rest in Peace.

Our hearts are shattered. Alfredo, you were so kind and generous and you simply deserved a long life with Jill and Hayden. You so adored them. You will be missed and we send our love to heaven where we know you are watching over your family.

Alfredo had such a big heart. He was not only my manager but a great friend. He taught me how to be a better supervisor He did his best to help anyone in need. He would always reach out to see how I was doing. We last spoke was a week ago that that conversation will always be with me. I don’t want this to be true. I’m still waiting for you to call. Prayers for your family. You will be extremely missed.
