My uncle, my godfather. You will be missed more than you’ll ever know.

I was lucky to know Al as a student (class on 1993), colleague, and friend.  My fondest memories of Al are in his old office in Beam Hall.  His office was full of gifts from students, photo albums of his many trips and cruises, and chairs (at one point, he had five chairs in the office where students were always welcome to sit and chat).  

Al was one in a million and had an incredible impact on me as well as the lives of so many students.  I will always be grateful for his humor, support, and friendship!

Some of my best memories and important friendships exist only because of you. It would be impossible to overstate how much your friendship, and the times we spent, mean to me. I'd tell you I love and miss you, but I know you'd laugh and tell me "that's just the booze talking", even if we weren't drinking. We always say may his memory be a blessing. Yours is for me and many, many others. You are, and always will be, a legend. Yours was a life well lived. I feel lucky to know you as well as I did. Vaya con Dios.

So sorry to hear of Professor Izzolo’s passing. He was one of my favorite professors at UNLV.  He will be missed.   Sending thoughts and prayers to the family, at this difficult time.

TO THE IZZOLO FAMILY

Our family has know Al for quite sometime. He not only was an exciting and adventurous man but a thoughtful and grateful individual. He loved life and made sure everybody was inclusive in enjoying his experiences throughout his journey worldwide. He was always there for  his students and there will never be another  greater Ambassador for UNLV than Alfred Izzolo.
