Alfonso Hernandez Talorda fondly known as "Ponching" in the Philippines and when he immigrated in the United States in 1975, he was fondly known as "Al". He was born in March 2, 1928 in Imus, Cavite, Philippines. He was survived by his loving wife, Rosalinda Meras Dimaano and his wonderful children, Maria Teri Pangulayan, Cynthia Delos Santos, Emma Santos, & Armando Talorda. Also, left to cherish his memory were his precious grandchildren, Aljamin, Emmanuel, Justin, Joanna, Newell, Maricar, & Adam. Raised in family of four sisters, Puring, Bella, Meyong, and Cely, and three brothers, Eddie, Turo, and Freddie, Alfonso had an inborn appreciation for the order in the family, allowing for the oldest members to be the most respected and to take on the most responsibility.
Alfonso leaves a large community of friends and loved ones who mourn his passing. He has been always a natural leader, provider, and protector which made their family bond stronger. His passion was singing. His good sense of humor brought joy to everyone who knew him. As a father, he loved, encouraged, and sacrificed everything to bring happiness to his family. As a person, there will never be another. He loved life even when life gave his twists and turns. He always stood tall and strong.
Alfonso would always be remembered as a loving, caring, responsible, and a hero to all who knew him as a husband, father, brother, uncle, and grandfather. He will remain in our hearts and will cherish all his good deeds. We love you and will miss you, until we meet again.
As Alfonso will be laid to rest on April 8th, he will be joining his late daughter, Nellia Dizon.
