Alexander Costa, 81, a Las Vegas resident since 1990, passed away March 29, 2010. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Alexander was an avid bowler and he loved the sport of horse racing. He is survived by his loving wife, of 60 years, Angelina; daughters, Phyllis (Frank) Thompson and Mary Russell, both of Las Vegas; son, John (Robin) Costa of Margaretville, N.Y.; grandchildren, Chris and Sammie Costa of Margaretville; and sister, Grace (Phil) Ganguzza of Hopatcong, N.J. Alexander was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Vinnie Russell in 2004. Visitation will be 2-7 p.m. Saturday, April 3, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside service with military honors will be at noon Monday, April 5, at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the American Heart Association .
