Albert Lee Sims

Albert Lee Sims, the son of the late Otto Sims and Alta Mae Stone Sims was born on April 19, 1932, in North Little Rock, Arkansas. He departed this life Tuesday, June 24, 2014. Albert enjoyed life and valued relationships and believed in helping others. He was preceded in death by brothers Rosevelt Sims, Otto Sims, Jr, and a sister, Mary Sims Parker Harper.

Albert graduated from Scipio A. Jones High School in 1949. Shortly after graduation, he volunteered for service in the U.S. Army, where he successfully completed Office Candidate School, to become an officer. He served in the 82nd Airborne as an Artillery Officer before leaving the military. He later worked for the U.S. Postal Service and the Marriott Hotel chain before retiring. He will be remembered by his surviving siblings: Esther Sims Gray of Maumelle, Arkansas, Elizabeth Sims Johnson, Upper Marlboro, Maryland, Herbert (Pamela), Sims, Fort Worth, Texas: Deborah Bailey, Las Vegas, Nevada, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and loving friends.
