Alan Abbott, 83, devoted father and husband, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2025 with his three loving sons at his side. He was born on July 1, 1941 to parents Sol and Fay in New York. As a teenager, Alan met Barbara Weissbrot, the love of his life. Alan and Barbara married on November 7, 1965, and soon welcomed their three sons, Scott, Mark, and Jerry. Alan and Barbara moved their young family from New York to Holliston, Massachusetts where they lived for over 50 years. Alan enjoyed a long and successful career in the coated fabrics and footwear industries before his retirement. He and Barbara shared almost 55 years of marriage marked by unwavering love, shared dreams, and a deep commitment to family. After Barbara's passing in August 2020, Alan relocated to live with his sons in Las Vegas, a place he loved visiting for many years after decades of cold, snowy winters in New England. Alan had a lifelong passion for architecture, real estate, and business and investment opportunities. His love of sports started with his high school basketball days, and one of his greatest pleasures as a father was golfing with his sons.
Alan was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife, Barbara. He is survived by his three sons, Scott, Mark, and Jerry, all of Las Vegas, and his sister, Cindy Trachtenberg, her husband, Richard, and nephew, Eric, all of New York. Alan's legacy lives on in the values he instilled in his sons. At Alan‘s request, no services are scheduled. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Alan's honor to either the American Heart Association or the American Kidney Fund. We will always love you, Dad.
