83, passed away April 21, 2014, with her loving family at her side. Born in Elmhurst, IL, to the late Leo L. Hamilton and Grace Giles Hamilton, Bonnie was married to Wesley R. Shaw, MD, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her long-time partner, Carl Noss; her five children, Eric (Cynthia), Joanne (Johnny), Karen (Bill), David (Lorenza), and Scott (Michele); nine grandchildren (December, Matthew, Dusty, Sarah, Nicholas, Jeremy, Joshua, Emma, and Olivia), and one great grandson (Tyler), as well as a sister (Marian Seymour) and beloved niece and nephew, Barbara Berk and Charles Finkl. She attended the Illinois Masonic School of Nursing and met Wesley while he was in residency. Together they lived and worked all over the country raising their children, sharing their love of camping and visiting the historic places of this beautiful country. Bonnie relocated to Clearwater after the death of her husband and joined the American Red Cross working in various areas as the Director of Nursing, youth director, and a member of disaster relief services around the country. One of her proudest achievements as a nurse was her participation in the Vietnamese refugee facility at Fort Smith, Arkansas, where she greeted new arrivals, assessed their condition, and provided treatment for them until they were re-located. After retiring from the American Red Cross, she continued her nursing career as a missionary to Venezuela, working in home health care in Brevard County, FL, where she met Carl, and caring for her mother at home. A voracious reader, she also very much enjoyed traveling the world to countries such as Japan, Israel, and Panama. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Yvonne’s memory to either H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute or Suncoast Hospice Care Center Mid-Pinellas.
