William Wesley King, 98, of New Port Richey, FL, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2025. Born in Dobbs Ferry, NY, to Ethel and Raymond King, William has lived in Ardsley, NY, Valley Stream Long Island, NY, before retiring in New Port Richey, FL.
William was a proud veteran of the United States Army, having served during World War II as a T-5 in Yokohama, Japan. He retired after a distinguished career with the New York Central and Long Island Railroads.
He is survived by Michael DeRop, Anne K. Scofield, and James W. King; his grandchildren, Robert P. Bissell, Kristen J. Scofield, Peter, Brent, Sean, and Dale King, and Solomon Champion; as well as his great-grandchildren, Julia, Riley, Adelaide, Livia, Filip W. King, and Victor Torres.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday March 26th, 2025 from 2-4pm at Serenity Funeral Home, 13401 Indian Rocks Road, Largo, FL 33774. A private graveside will be held at Florida National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Honor Flight West Central Florida or the Suncoast Hospice Foundation.
