As a teen I was invited up from Jamaica to help out with the young children of Uncle Vin and Aunt Norma. I enjoyed my time in NY with a loving family.

Blessings to Uncle Vincent . He’s gone on to join his father and mother and brothers Lewis and Ivan. 
John Lee Shue was the patriarch of the Lee Shue family,  He and his wife  had four sons who lived in Jamaica. Phillip, Lewis, Ivan, Vincent. 
I can only speak for the Jamaican sons.  The Lee Shue boys were looked upon as successful business owners in Kingston. 
I can recall my Mom telling me they won a Hillman Minx car  in the Chinese new year raffle.  That was in 1951. 

Uncle and his wife Norma ran Wonder bakery. It was located on Maxfield Ave and Burke Road in Kingston 13. 
Uncle Vincent , Aunt Norma and Natalie  stayed with us prior to moving to NY. 1961. 

Uncle Vincent enjoyed Jamaican food. One particular dish. Was cooked up smoked herring . The helper  would roast herring wrapped up in newspaper on a coal stove. Then stripped and seasoned in onion and tomato and scotch bonnet. (A must in 
Jamaican cooking.)
I recall uncle Vincent had a bad case of ingrown toenail. I felt his pain. 
Later, he  came to visit us in Kingston and brought my brother Mikey a transistor radio . He also brought us lollipops and Chinese banana cakes. We were grateful for foreign sweets. 

Blessings to him and family  that they went on to have a successful life in NY and then on to Florida.  

I send my love and comfort to his wife and children, and grandchildren.

I am blessed to have been so close to Goong Goong for 30 years. Not everyone has the chance to build a relationship with their grandparents, especially when we do not live in the same city. Even moving to Orlando, I always visited for his birthday and Christmas, or any chance I was in Seminole. He was always welcoming and smiling when Mark and I walked through the door. He may not have been the biggest fan of having dogs in his house but he never said no to me. He allowed my 2 pups to always visit! Goong Goong and Popo even went out of their way and traveled all the way to Orlando (which I know wasn't easy) to see our new home. What an honor to have my grandparents be there for such a big milestone. He always was a part of my life, maybe not physically but virtually. For our wedding, he was able to attend on the live stream video where we can see each other during another great milestone.

 We had a lot of similarities... loved always snacking throughout the day especially with fruits and animal crackers, greatly enjoyed steak with a glass of wine, singing Bob Marley, and we loved our skincare routine! One of my favorite memories spent was doing face masks together. No matter his age, he always wanted to minimize scars or have even smoother skin than what he already had! 

All of my memories with him have been wonderful. Even after our engagement in California, we quickly made a trip down to see him and Popo to continue sharing great times together. A caring, loving and kindhearted grandfather. We are so grateful to have seen him before he passed. Singing songs and holding his hand, remembering and cherishing all of our memories together.  No matter the distance or time between us, he was always in my thoughts. He is deeply missed, yet never forgotten. I love you, always.
