Diagnosed at 40 years old with ovarian cancer, Michelle fought it for 14 years. She eventually succumbed to her illness, surrounded by her loving husband and children.
Born in St. Peterburg, Florida, on November 30, 1967, she is the only child of her father Robert McIlrath (deceased) and her mother Barbara Parr, 77.
Michelle moved with her husband and children to Arizona in 1994 and lived there until 2011, when they moved back to Florida to be closer to her family.
She graduated from Arizona State University in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in Special Education.
Although she lived majority of her life in Florida, during her time spent living in Chandler, Arizona. Michelle made many life-long friends in the community through attending her children’s school activities and attending non-denominational Christian church services at Cornerstone Church on Sundays.
Despite many years of battling health issues and recovering from medical treatments, Michelle still managed to travel the world, visiting many countries throughout Europe and Asia. She lived her life grateful for the blessings she had.
Michelle came from a large family, but was diligent in her efforts to always try to recognize other’s special moments or achievements and include as many friends and family members in her celebrations.
She loved sunsets, traveling abroad, and spending quality time with her kids.
She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Alan Edwards, and her children, Joshua, Jordan, Zachary and bonus daughter, Bianca.
Per the family’s request, no funeral service or burial will be held. In place, the family will host sunset service this Friday the 17th on Indian Rocks Beach 18th Street Entrance. There will be a celebration of life ceremony in Indian Rocks Beach, Florida, on July 2nd, 2022.
