Stephen Jason South of Seminole, FL passed away in his home surrounded by his loving parents and family after a courageous battle with colon cancer. He is now at peace with the Lord. Steve was born in Milton, FL during the summer of '69, raised in Toledo, OH before relocating to Seminole, FL thirty years ago. Steve was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend. He served his country in the U.S. Army National Guard, 6 years actively and 2 years as a reservist. He was a precision machinist for over 20 years with Pneumatic Scale Angelus, a division of Barry Wehmiller. He loved his work and his colorful coworkers even more. He is remembered for his kindness, warm smile, selfless spirit, a sense of humor that kept everyone in stitches, optimism, and ever present "thumbs up" when asked how he was doing – even in the worst of times. He had a deep love of nature, fishing, and the Florida lifestyle. Always the life of the party, he loved sports, karaoke, and rocking out to his favorite bands with his circle of friends. He will be sorely missed. Steve is survived by his parents: Bill and Debbie South; paternal grandmother: Betty South; siblings: Cindy and Bob Acton, Tyler and Kym South, Sam South and Roman Black; aunts and uncles: Mary Swartz, Bob and Peg South, Ken and Mary South, Nancy Rowe, and Sue Rowe; many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews, and best friends: Martin, Mike, and Bobby AKA "The Wolf Pack." A special thank you to his dear friend Sandra for guiding him on this journey. Steve was preceded in death by paternal grandfather: William Oran South, Sr. and maternal grandparents: Mont and Viola Rowe.
