of Largo, Florida and formerly of Fairhaven, Massachusetts, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, Florida after a brief illness on Jan. 26, 2015.
He was born December 28, 1942 in New Bedford, Massachusetts, the son of Stephen A., II and Doris (Robinson) Hatch. Stephen and his wife, Cynthia, moved to Florida in 1986 from North Dartmouth, Massachusetts. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard and worked as a marine mechanic at Johns Pass Marina in Madeira Beach, Florida for 21 years.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Cynthia; his son, Craig Hatch; daughter, Janet Akins; granddaughters, Meagan Akins, Alyssa Akins, Amber Hatch; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Eugene & Cheryl Kozlowski; one niece and three nephews, as well as many devoted lifelong family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to Madeira Beach Fundamental School Dock Renovation Project. Donations should be made out to Madeira Beach Fundamental School PTSA (MBFSPTSA) and may be dropped off at the school front office or mailed to:
