Seldon B. Smith Jr., 79, of Largo, FL, passed away on June 3rd, 2024. Born on September 25th, 1944, in Ballinger, TX, to Leona Daniel Smith and Seldon B. Smith Sr., Seldon lived a life filled with dedication, service, and love.
Seldon embarked on a remarkable journey, marked by his service to his country. He earned a nuclear technology associate degree from the Community College of the Air Force, laying the foundation for a distinguished career in the Air Force. His commitment to duty and honor left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
On November 2nd, 1990, Seldon exchanged vows with his loving wife, Victoria L. Smith. Together, they built a life steeped in love, companionship, and shared adventures.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Seldon had a zest for life that was contagious. An avid member of Shirin, he found joy in the camaraderie of friends and the warmth of shared moments. Seldon's passions knew no bounds; he found solace in the kitchen, whipping up culinary delights, and found freedom on the open road astride his beloved motorcycle. Key West held a special place in his heart, and his thirst for exploration took him to far-flung corners of the globe.
Seldon leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. He is survived by his cherished wife, Victoria L. Smith, his children Kathy Warman, Michell Smith, William Jacobs, Christina Macurdy, and John Meacham, his adoring grandchildren Sarah, James, Robyn, Bridget, and Makenzie, as well as his grandchildren Sage and Reed. He is also survived by his sister, Cheryl Michaud.
Though Seldon may have departed this world, his spirit lives on in the memories of those who knew and loved him. May his laughter echo in our hearts, and may his legacy inspire us to embrace life with the same fervor and passion that he did.
A visitation for Seldon will be held Saturday, June 8, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Serenity Funeral Home, 13401 Indian Rocks Road, Largo, FL 33774, followed by a funeral service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
