Paul is predeceased by the love of his life, Carol (almost 54 years) and survived by their two children; Jeffrey (Michele) and Laura. Paul is also survived by his brother of Robert (Pattie) Brueggeman Centreville, Va, James (Pamala) Williamsburg, Va. and Donna Brueggeman, Crofton, Md. He was a cherished uncle to Candace, Jason, Matthew and Haley; and good friend and neighbor to many people.
Paul will be remembered as a passionate, driven and honorable man with a great sense of pride in his family and his service in the United States Marine Corp.
Paul had a distinguished career as an Electrical Engineer and Information Technology Specialist at Honeywell Aerospace in Clearwater, Florida. Paul spent 36 years working on a variety of key projects to include military defense and the Space Shuttle. Upon retirement, he enjoyed spending time with family, going on walks with his dog and mastering jigsaw puzzles. Paul was also an avid soccer fan.
Paul endured many years of suffering and we ask the Lord Almighty to have mercy on Paul and turn the darkness of death into the dawn of new life, and the sorrow of parting into the joy of heaven, Amen.
A visitation for Paul will be held Wednesday, November 13, 2024 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Serenity Funeral Home, 13401 Indian Rocks Road, Largo Florida, 33774. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, November 13, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 13401 Indian Rocks Road, Largo, FL 33774. A reception will occur Wednesday, November 13, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 13401 Indian Rocks Road, Largo, Fl, 33774.
A graveside service will occur Thursday, November 14, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Rd 72, Sarasota, FL 34241.
In lieu of gifts or flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Moffitt Cancer Center (Head & Neck Research) in Tampa, Florida, Suncoast Hospice Care Center Mid-Pinellas in Pinellas Park, Florida or the Semper Fidelis Memorial@ Marieheritage.org
Lastly, the family would like to thank all of Paul’s doctors and caregivers for all their support and care, but most importantly, the gratitude of the many people who Paul’s life touched.
