Orville Carl Bickel Jr.

85, of Largo, passed away Jan 16, 2018.

Orville was born in Oil City PA on March 14, 1932 and lived in Vandergrift, PA.

In 1950 he joined the navy band and was stationed in Korea.

He graduated Westminster College, PA and moved to Frostproof, Fl where he was High School Band Director and later built houses.

In Tampa he directed the Shrine band and as construction superintendent managed many projects ending with the Tampa Airport Jet Center. He taught the art of stained glass at Brookdale Pinecrest and loved to travel, fish, cook and most of all spend time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Flo;

sons, Brian (Patsy) and Jay;

daughter, Melanie Kuklis (Tim); and

granddaughters, Jennifer, Alissa, Amanda and Emily.

Memorial service Sunday, January 21st, 2 pm at Serenity Funeral Home, 13401 Indian Rocks Rd, Largo.
