Pierce, Norman O., of Largo, Florida, and formerly of Lima, Ohio, passed away September 8, 2014. Norman was born October 31, 1919, in Neptune, Ohio, to Francis and Margaret (nee Maurer) Pierce. Largo became his permanent home in 1993. He is survived by his wife Lois (nee Rimer) of 71 years; daughters Suzanne of Owings Mills, Maryland, Cathy of Oldsmar, Florida, and Janet Marvin (Lloyd) of Clearwater, Florida; granddaughters Amy Riley (David)and Katie Marvin; and two great-granddaughters Olivia and Sophia Riley. Norman was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Largo. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy and served his country in WWII, and was a member of VFW Post 4693 in Largo. Norman was an alumnus and lifetime supporter of The Ohio State University and Sigma Pi Fraternity. He was employed by Clark Equipment, formerly Lima Locomotive Works, for 40 years in Lima, Ohio. Arrangements for a memorial service are pending. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Norman’s memory to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 1199 Highland Ave. Largo, FL 33770.
