Norma Lee Lutz was born in Baltimore, Maryland on July 28, 1928. In her early years, she was involved in dance and "Campfire Girls". Her family later moved to Auburndale, Florida in 1945 where she spent her senior year of high school. Shortly after, they moved to Pinellas County where she was involved in various civic groups and organizations. She married Richard Lutz in 1957 and they had 3 daughters, Dawn, Jill and Kris, which later produced 7 grandchildren, Matthew, Jared, Starla, Tyler, Tanner, Jesse and Carson. Her family lovingly referred to her as "Mamaw", "Girlie", "Goody" and many other variations of those.
She was a florist by trade but after having children, became a homemaker to spend time being "Mom" and volunteering during their school years. She became "band mom", sewing and mending the high school band uniforms. Her love of sewing produced wedding gowns and bridesmaid gowns for her daughters, as well as her own dresses. She also loved to crochet. She crocheted blankets, wash cloths, scarves, and hats (affectionately termed "Goody Hoods") for family, friends and even friends of family she'd never met. Numerous charities like The Pregnancy Center or church groups benefited from her talents as she often made baby blankets and hats, always a "labor of love". She had a passion for the North Georgia Mountains and traveled there with family several times a year. She enjoyed making friends and visiting neighbors and just taking in the beautiful mountain views.
She enjoyed going to church and meeting new friends as well as fellowshipping with old ones. Her desire for volunteering was strong; from greeting at the front door to helping out at the many church functions. She was always willing to pitch in.
The strong bond of friendship with her Wild Acres neighbors continued for over 50 years. These included birthday parties, Christmas gatherings and summer picnics. They will always have a place in the hearts of those who attended.
She was always thinking of others and never missed an opportunity to send a birthday card or note of cheer. Her acts of kindness and selfless deeds never went unnoticed nor will they ever be forgotten.
A daughter, mother, grandmother and friend to many; a life well lived, the love she shared was never long enough on this earth. Resting in the loving arms of Jesus, Eternal Peace.
