2018. Born December 12, 1925, in Bay City, MI, Marian was the daughter of Rev. E.F. Hutfilz and
Anna Werner Hutfilz. She married Major Herbert W. Pickelmann in Saginaw, MI in 1946 and loved
her life as an Air Force wife. “Pick” predeceased her in 1957. She married Charles F. Curtis II in Clearwater in
1962, and they enjoyed traveling all over the world and sharing their passion for golf until Chuck’s death in 2007. Marian was
an avid golfer and was a former member of Belleair Country Club, where she once won the Club Championship. But most of
all, Marian loved church work and was very active in supporting the ministries of First Lutheran Church, Rogate Lutheran
Church, and finally Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. In her 50s, she learned sign language so that she could communicate
and help with the deaf congregation then at Rogate. Marian is survived by a son, Randall W. Pickelmann of St. George, ME and
wife, Cindy; a daughter, Jane Pickelmann Long, of Slatington, PA and husband, Sam; and grandson, Randall W. Pickelmann,
Jr. (“Chip”), of Largo, FL. A celebration of Marian’s life will be held on Friday, November 2 at 11, at Prince of Peace Lutheran,
455 Missouri Avenue, Largo. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Largo, Florida,
designated for local missions or Religious Community Services. Serenity Funeral Home & Serenity Gardens Cemetery (727) 562-2080. Condolences may be offered to www.serenityfuneralhomelargo.com. View Guest Book at www.tampabay.com/obits.
