Lynn Beth Spears

SPEARS, Lynn Beth 55 of Largo FL died May 7, 2011 at Hospice House Woodside in Pinellas Park. Mrs. Spears was born in Gainesville FL on Dec 22, 1956 to parents James and Betty (Hyman) Thurston. She is preceded in death by her mother Betty who passed away in 2004. Lynn was a lifelong resident of Pinellas County excepting 3 years in Fairfax County VA. She was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church where she had the distinction of being the first baby baptized in the new church. Lynn was active in the Girl Scouts, and graduated from Largo High School in 1975, and was a member of the renowned “Band of Gold” which toured Europe and was awarded a Gold Medal at the World Band Championships in Kierkegaard Holland. As a high school senior Lynn was a member of the first Largo High girls track team. As an adult she was a banker and a loan processor. She is survived by her two children Michael and Rachel Spears of Largo, father James Thurston of Largo, twin sisters Nancy Channell of Lake City FL, and Deborah Sibley of New Orleans LA, a brother Michael Thurston of Bellingham MA, 3 nieces and nephews. Visitation hours are scheduled for Tuesday May 10th from 5 to 7 pm at Moss Feaster Funeral Home Serenity Gardens Chapel in Largo.
