Karen Camp Lenhart

Karen Camp Lenhart, M.D., O.D., 61, passed away in her sleep on October 17, 2015. Born November 13, 1953 in Ravenna, OH, the daughter of Helen and Michael Camp.. She attended Willowbrook High School in Lombard, IL, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champagne, Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago obtaining a BSVS and O.D., American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine, CETEC School of Medicine, Emory University Internship and Residency in Psychiatry, and obtained Board Certification in Addiction Medicine. Very accomplished in her professional life she was owner and Director of Center for Problem Resolution, Director of the addiction program at Suncoast Hospital in Clearwater, Medical Director of chemical dependency at Horizon Hospital and Owner of RX Fitness. She loved spending time with her children and family. She was a talented Psychiatrist who helped improve the lives of many patients. She had a passion for politics and her country as a member and supporter of the Republican National Committee, USO and Wounded Warrior Project. She had steadfast companionship with her Maltese dogs. She enjoyed traveling, which included seeing all of the United States, and much of Asia and Europe. She loved tennis and fitness and was a member at the Racquet Club of St. Petersburg, and the Vinoy. She had an eye for fashion and art, and had multiple hobbies which included reading a good book, gardening, jewelry making, and cooking a great meal for her family. She is survived by a son Michael Lenhart of St Petersburg, daughter Christina Harrod of Sarasota, her father Michael Camp of Clearwater Beach, brother David of Indian Shores, and sister Linda Camp of Wheaton, IL. She is predeceased by her mother Helen Camp. Visitation hours are planned for Friday October 23rd from 4:30 to 6:30 pm at Serenity Funeral Home 13401 Indian Rocks Road in Largo. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday October 24th at 10:30 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Serenity Gardens Memorial Park Lakeside Abbey Mausoleum.
