John Jennings Brady MD, 84, of Belleair, FL died at home on November 4, 2011 surrounded by his wife and children. He was born in Chatham, Ontario Oct. 5, 1927 to Ellen Watts Brady and Joseph Brady. “Jack” was preceded in death by siblings Joseph, Mary, Madeline, Margaret and Robert. A graduate of Marquette University and Marquette School of Medicine, Class of 1954, Jack served as a Captain in the US Air Force Medical Corps. He completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Providence Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. He practiced medicine in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, for 12 years and then moved with his family to Pinellas County in 1972 where he joined the staff of Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater. He retired in 1998. An accomplished golfer, Jack was a member of the Belleair Country Club for 39 years. He was a devoted husband to his wife of 57 years, Mary Elizabeth O’Connell Brady, and a beloved father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, eight children, Anne Quinlan and her husband, Gerard, Dr. Mary Susan Brady and her husband, Dr. Paul Russo, Patricia Hetrick and her husband Stephen, Sharon, Madeline Fromageot, John and his wife Jennifer, Michael, and Thomas and his wife Wendy, and 19 grandchildren. A visitation will be held Thurs. Nov. 10, 5-8 pm at Moss Feaster, 13401 Indian Rocks Rd, Largo. Dr. Brady was an active member of the congregation of St Cecelia Catholic Church, 820 Jasmine Way, Clearwater, where the funeral mass will take place at 10 am Friday, Nov. 11.
