James R. Kramer a Largo/Seminole, Florida native recently passed away. James was born in Clearwater, Florida and raised on a citrus grove in the Seminole area. He attended Seminole Elementary School, Largo Junior High and graduated from Largo Senior High in 1962. James worked for a frame and trim company as a carpenter's helper for a short period of time prior to enlisting in the United States Air Force. While in the Air Force he attended electronics school and graduated as an Airborne Radio Repairman. Upon completing his tour of duty, he returned to the Largo area and was employed by E.C.I. (Electronic Communications, Inc.). While employed in field service he was assigned to the 89th Military Airlift Wing and trained NCO personnel in the maintenance of communications on Air Force One, Air Force Two, and other aircraft utilized to transport high ranking U.S. Government officials. After leaving E.C.I. he worked for Collins Radio Company, Rockwell International, Xetron Corporation, Electrospace Incorporated, and consulted with many other electronics companies. Upon retirement, he returned to the Largo area. He leaves two daughters, Heidi Nida (David) and Kathy Lane (Gary); four Grandchildren; four Great Grandchildren; three Nephews and five Nieces.
A Celebration of Life will be held in James' honor on Sunday January 8th, 2023 from 1-5pm at the Historical Largo Feed Store, 295 Central Park Dr, Largo, FL 33771.
James will be interned in Bay Pines National Cemetery with military honors on Monday January 9th, 2023 at 12:15pm.
