Jerry was known for his love of his family and home time. He was a man of few words. This made his words so powerful. He always spoke honestly, patiently, and kind. He would always offer a listening ear and gave unbiased advice. He was a man of dignity, respect and a protector.
His happiest times were spent with them. He was very proud of Angie’s success as a nurse and boasted about it to anyone who would listen. His special relationship with Joe was not to be compared. He told people he was his “son”. Some of his special times was having tea parties with Bailey and telling her “no more sugar” as she kept spooning it in. His new grandson was named after him which brought him so much joy.
Jerry worked as an electrician and project manager. He loved science fiction and was an avid reader. As a young man he earned his certification as a Life Scout with the Boy Scouts and hiked the Appalachian Trail. He earned an AS from St. Petersburg College and attended the University of Tennessee (hence his love Tennessee football).
Jerry and Vikki had a marriage full of love. They were best friends and loved spending their time together. When Jerry proposed to Vikki she asked him how much he loved her and he said “A lot”. She then asked him for how long and he replied “Forever”. They took those answers and came up with LOTEVER which was always their special phrase to each other. They also pledged to spend 50 years together and then they would evaluate where they would go from there. They didn’t make 50 years, but they were blessed with 45 years and eternity.
