Georgianna Lee Jegen went to be with the Lord on August 09, 2020. She was born to parents, George and Arta Berkut on 10-21-1941 in Wilmington, NC. Early on she was raised by her mother, grandmother and her mother’s two sisters. Her father served in the U.S. Army during World War II in North Africa.
Georgianna became a beauty queen and cheerleader, both in high school and college. After attending South Georgia College she was hired as an agent at Southern Airways. Eventually, Southern became part of United Airlines and she was based in Atlanta, GA. There, she met a Delta Airlines Captain named Ken and the two of them eventually were married. Their marriage lasted 47 years, until passing only 4 days apart.
Georgianna had a intense passion for art. She created many of her own beautiful pieces and collected the works of other artists. Her other passions included traveling by air, land and sea. She enjoyed sailing, yachting, and motorcycles. Georgianna never got over her motion sickness and that never held her back.
She never met a stranger and was loved by everyone. Her passing leaves an endearing legacy of love, caring, and friendship that will be hard to equal. She is survived by a daughter, Patricia "Trish" Jackson McFall and her husband, Rick McFall; a son, Scott Kenneth Jegen; a granddaughter, Kenna Ray McFall; and numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws. She was a kind and gentle spirit, and the world will not be the same without her.
