Gary was my golfing buddy.  Gary and I liked playing lots of golf.  Hit umm long, hit umm short, hit it on the green, and make the putt.  I drove the golf cart and Gary kept up with the score card.  Gary and I played alot of golf together.  Gary's swing looked like Arnold Palmer's.  I nick-named Gary, Arny.  Off the tee Gary hit the golf ball a long ways.  Gary would tell other golfers that we play from the blue tee's, which is where the better golfers tee off from.  Gary would say " O'l Bob and me, we play from the blue's ".  Gary always bragged about how good a golfer I was.  He would say " O'l Bob is one of the best golfers I've played golf with ".  With  jokes, humor, and music, Gary helped me thru difficult times.  Helped me thru good times too.  I never thought I'd like Bluegrass, Country, and Gospel music.  I still don"t.  Just joking Gary.  I like some of it.  Thanks for sharing your jokes, humor, and music for my Mom and Dee.  Mom liked you alot and thought you were a hoot.  If anybody can make Dee laugh and put a smile on her face, it was you. Gary was a very special man and I have many good memories of him.  My condolences and prayers to your family.  He will be missed.

many years was your "humor" and the "nickname" you had for me which is now "with you"!  One thing for sure you will definitely be missed but the joy of knowing "you are only a thought away" is a reward for those left behind! You were loved unconditionally!

Gary, you will surely be missed.  More than you will ever know.  We loved the times we golfed with you and Bob.  Great times.  Especially when we played longest drive and we had to hit out of the sand bunker. That was a treat.   Ruthie hit it the best.  We always had a good time.

We will miss you but we know you are at peace with the lord.

I needed to take some time to think about this and I think it is important for anyone who reads this to know that my Dad was friend of many, and extremely kind hearted.  He taught me how to golf and play the guitar and even got me to sing on tape one time... He made my first set of golf clubs by cutting them down and using electrical tape for grips (back before kids were entitled to get professional sports equipment just for participating).  My Dad gave me more than I could have ever hoped for and what's most endearing of all of it is-- he didn't have to.  My Dad stepped up and adopted me when he married my Mom.  He was not a good man, he was a GREAT man who gave of himself to help others.  He helped take care of my grandma when she came to live with Mom and Dad after my Grandpa passed away.  She loved him very much and she appreciated all he did for her.  I've seen my Dad struggle for years with his heart condition.  I am glad he is at peace and the worry and fear he carried is gone.  I love you Dad and I will never forget the time we had together.  Thank you for being my Dad!  -Love Logan

I just want to say that my BEST FRIEND (Gary)will be forever missed by me. I will always remember the time we spent togeather,the jokes we shared,the blue grass we listened to, last but not least the AFV videos we watched and Tosh.0. I have to say that the short time I lived across the street from you (Gary) you not only became my best friend ,you became like a FATHER to me and Nila became like a mother. You never once judged me for the mistakes I made,you always gave me words of encuragement. You and Nila treated my kids as if they were y'all's grandkids. Even after I moved to TN you would still listen to me vent and give me advice when I would call. I know one day I will see you again and we will be able to joke and laugh again. When we do meet again we will be able to race with our legs instead of our power chairs. You will never know how much you meant to me MY FRIEND.  I love you and miss you more than you will ever know.

P.S. We will share an alkaseltzer pizza again one day.
