The Reynolds Family was a second family to me and they have loomed large in my thoughts lo these many years.  Ethel was truly my second mother and I deeply regret not writing the letter to her that I planned in my head for the past several years now.  A true lady of strength and grace,  Ethel showed me, through her actions and words, what it meant to be a quiet, giving person.  Ellie was my childhood best friend and whenever I recall the past, it is not often that Ellie's presence doesn't sidle right in there beside me.  We were bonded almost at the DNA level.  And Franklin taught me so very, very much and I have always held him in the highest regard.  Part father/brother/friend.  I am sorry I did not see Ethel in these final years, but I will, truly, forever carry her in my heart.  She is missed by many, perhaps even more than she knew.

I called her mom from the day I met her.
She was feisty, independent and determined to live her life the way she wanted to. A perfect role model.  She will be missed

Ethel, on Friday December 3rd I discovered that you lived an exceptional life.  Mother to a whole pile of children who have themselves grown up to become interesting, loving adults, you are an inspiration to me on how to make every bit of life count.

I first met you at Ellie's 50th birthday party - I think there was more fun down at our end of the table than anywhere else on it!  You were fascinating to listen to - your travel experiences, being a mother of a sizeable brood of successful adults, and your wonderful sense of humor throughout the evening made the night end way too soon.  I wish we had had many more conversations - but that is something for your children and grandchildren to cherish for themselves, instead.

You were, and are, an amazing person, and my life is the better for having met you and spent time getting to know you.  It is my privilege and joy to have the friendship of your daughter Ellie in my life, and having learned so much about you, I now see how Ellie is the wonderful person she is.  She learned it from you.

I was so sorry about Ethel. I had not seen her in many years, but I have some special memories about her. She was such a sweet lady. When my mother died suddenly at age 35, Ethel was the first person I called to tell. She was living in Auburndale and it seemed like only minutes and she walked in the door. I called her when I saw the article about her birthday in the paper. We had a nice long telephone visit and I planned to go see her.....I'm sorry, I never did. I have thought about her thru the years and regret that I never went to see her. I had planned to go to the service, but something came up at the last minute and I couldn't go there either. My mom really thought a lot of Ethel. She really was a special lady....a real good person

I am very sorry for your loss. The last thing I remember about your mom was her smile during dinner at Bonefish, and I laughing afterwards about her remark that I talked too much that night (which was true).
