Dorothy Jean "Jean" Thompson

THOMPSON, Dorothy "Jean" 93, of Largo, died Feb. 10, 2010. Jean was born in Kaukauna, WI and moved to Largo in 1994 from Miami Lakes. Jean was in the Women Marine Corps serving in WW II, received her masters degree in Library Science from Florida State and was a member of the Women Marines Assoc., The Gulf Breeze, Florida Gulf Coast Chapter (FL-2). Jean also enjoyed ceramics, gardening and loved her little dog "Kuki". Jean is preceded in death by her sister, Pat, and is survived by her daughter, Toni Behr (Dr. Bill Blackshear), Largo; sons, Terry Thompson, NC and Guy Thompson, FL; brother, Frank "Buddy" (Elaine) Charlesworth, WI; sister, Marion Burt, Naples, FL; grandchildren, Lisa (Toby) Adams, Kristy (Sam) Straub, Troy Thompson and Sean (Ange) Thompson and great-grandchildren, Charlie Adams, Chloe Adams, Kaylea Jo Thompson and Gabriel Straub. Memorial contributions may be made to Charity Works, Inc., 635 Court St., Clearwater, FL 33756. Viewing will be from 2-4 Sunday and from 1-2 pm Monday.
