She was born in Springfield, MA, to Coolidge and Mary Elizabeth Peverley. Diane moved to Belleair Beach, FL, in her senior year of High School. She returned to Longmeadow, MA, and studied at Bay Path University. She then returned to Florida, married, and began raising her exceptional children. Her work took her to Grand Rapids, MI, in order to manage corporate Human resources. Her life took another turn in November 1988. She moved to California, remarried the love of her life James O’Neill, and began a very successful executive recruiting career. Her Husband’s work transferred them to Portland, OR, and subsequently to West Palm Beach, FL. In 2005, they both retired and moved back to her beloved Greater Tampa Bay.
Over the years, Diane has opened her home and heart to a wonderful list of friends and family. It is impossible to list all the individuals she helped, mentored, and loved, it is with loving gratitude we thank her for the contributions she made to enhance so many lives.
Diane was a consummate Art Student and earned several ribbons for her efforts, and her other passion was her garden which included a wonderful collection of beautiful orchids, she also beat her husband to the Golfs Hole in One Club. Diane was a member of the Clearwater junior league, on the board for the beach art center, Hospitality for Anona church, and volunteered for the Indian Rocks Beach Historical Museum.
She is survived by her loving husband, James O’Neill, of 33 years, and her loving children Kimberly Kepler Deetz (Jim Deetz), Wendy Kepler Murphy (Rick Scarlett), Stephen Kepler (Kelly Montgomery-Kepler), Anne Marie Wood (John Wood), her step-children Darin O’Neill (Robin O’Neill), Bryan O’Neill, Jennifer O’Neill Swindle (Richard Swindle), her sisters Joanie Pickens (John Pickens), Barbara Palmisano, Carol Jean Geissler ( Fred Geissler), 11 loving grandchildren and two soon to be four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family and many wonderful friends whom she loved dearly.
It is with a heavy heart we send her to her Savior Jesus Christ, whom she cherished throughout her life. Diane was an incredible wife, mother, sister, cook, grandmother, and friend. She was “The Boss” that enhanced all of our lives, May she rest in peace.
Services to honor Diane will take place on Saturday May 27, 2023. The O'Neill family will begin to receive family and friends from 10am-12pm at Serenity Funeral Home, 13401 Indian Rocks Road, Largo, FL 33774. Diane's memorial service will follow at 12pm officiated by Rev. Richard Landon from Anona United Methodist Church. In honor or Diane's Joyous spirit please wear bright colorful attire to celebrate her style.
