Pastor Webb married Rose and I in 1982 at Grace Lutheran in Tampa (Carrolwood).  His was a wonderful voice in our early years of marriage, and even later as we would occasionally talk.  The Air Force  moved us in 1985, but David provided a great impetus for continuing our faith journeys - and life.

We just learned of his passing.  Gone from this life, but always a part of our living.  Best wishes to Karen and sons.

I am so sorry to just be seeing this notice about the death of Pastor Webb.  I have very fond memories of wonderful dinners together, with him and Karen.   He  was an excellent Pastor and his warmth and caring as the Pastor of Grace Luthern Church in Tampa continues to be remembered by many. Just learning of Pastor Webb's passing today.  Such a wonderful man, definitely one of the most influential people in my life.  I remember stopping in at St. Thomas Church in Miami during the week just to sit and chat with Pastor Webb.  Sometimes the conversations were deep and serious and sometimes we would just laugh.  I think of him often and his words stay with me these many years later.

My sincere condolences to the family.

I am grateful for the ministry of Pastor Webb at Ebenezer.   As I prepared to deploy to Operation Desert Storm, his pastoral presence  was indeed a source of strength for the journey to come.  May God comfort and reassure each of you as you grieve.

I have good memories of David when he and his wife belonged to our church.  His son, Pastor Chris, was our minister.  I pray that God will comfort all of his family as they go through this period  of  grief.

In 1980, we moved to Tampa and started coming to Grace Lutheran Church. Pastor Webb and his family made life at a new church easy. We felt welcomed and at home right away. When I attended confirmation class, we traveled to NC for camp a couple of Summers. One time in particular, we camped in tents and washed in the cold streams before heading to Luther Ridge. It was so much fun. Pastor Webb would wake us with his deep voice singing, “ It’s time to get up, it’s time to get up, it’s time to get up in the morning!” I have sung that to my children so many times. I always think of
that trip and him singing. He was a wonderfully kind man and he will truly be
missed. I hope he knows how he helped grow my faith in the Lord. 




Pastor David Webb will be missed by everyone who knew his smile and peaceful demeanor.   May his peace flow like a river through his family and friends.

I was so very sad to hear of Pastor Webb's passing.  He was an amazing man.  I have so many fond memories of him growing up 
 with him at Grace Lutheran Church.  Hiking in North Carolina every summer with the youth group are some of my favorite memories as a kid.  I had my first communion and Confirmation with Pastor Webb.  He made a significant impact on my life!

My heart is truly broken. Pastor Webb  was my Pastor at Grace Lutheran Church in Tampa for many years. I was blessed to have been able to see him and Karen a few years ago when I attended services in NC where his son was the Pastor. Linda and I are so saddened by David’s passing.  He truly was a brilliant light in our lives.  Thanks to you both, Linda and I came together and have spent these many wonderful years remembering your beautiful wedding day and what it meant to us.  Your joint ministry was a blessing and David surely was a “good and faithful servant.”

Ann and I are saddened to hear of the loss of David.  His friendship and that of Karen and their family have been over many years have meant a great deal to us.

In his first call, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Pawtucket, Rhode Island, right out of seminary, he recognized that the church needed a visioning process, which led us to a merger (first of it's kind) with a LCMS church in the other side of town.  It was his visionary effort and strength of courage that led to this merger which is thriving today.

His years of leadership in ministry in his subsequent calls were all meaningful and successful. 

For us, he will be in our hearts and minds to the day of Jesus Christ.

I am so sorry to learn of David’s death.  He was my friend for many years, a colleague pastor in the FL-Bahamas Synod, and fellow chaplain in the Reserves (although mine was USAR).  We shared a lot in common, especially our ministries in the Synod and the U. S. military.  Although our paths had not crossed in a while, I was saddened to hear of his death, yet thankful how he provided the message and presence of the grace of  our Lord in his ministry. This photo is of one of my fondest memories of Uncle David.  My heart will miss him as one of the greats.  I couldn't have asked for a better uncle growing up.  I am so glad I could spend this moment with him as well as so many other great memories.

Saddened to read of Pastor Webb’s passing. He married Lisa Engebretson Smith and me on 2/18/84 at Grace Lutheran Church of Carrollwood and presided over our renewal of vows in 2004. We were blessed to serve in senior high youth ministry at Grace, trips to Lutheridge, hikes up Mt. Mitchell, and Cove Creek, all under the guidance and leadership of Pastor Webb. David was an incredible colleague, friend, and mentor. Passionate about youth ministry, Dave chaired our synod youth committee and was great at delegating responsibilities to others. As pastors in Tampa, we took confirmation youth to Lutheridge, a place David truly loved. We served together on the bishop’s staff while our friend Bill Trexler was the bishop. Dave always had time to share excellent leadership insights. I will miss his wonderful demeanor, smile, and laugh. I rejoice that he is now with the Lord he loved and served so faithfully! 

The Webbs and the Yosts enjoyed wonderful times as young families in south Florida.  I appreciated  Dave as a colleague in ministry as we served on the synod youth committee, played golf, and encouraged and supported each other’s service in our parishes.  We shared a lot in common: growing up in NC, LRC, LTSS, and many of the same friends.  His brother, Jim, and I were also LR friends.  Brenda and I are grateful to God for the gift of David’s life and friendship.  Our prayers for God’s comfort and peace are rising for Karen, Chris, and Todd and their families. David was a wonderful and caring friend. He also knew how to make you think. He was a great story teller and could share a funny and uplifting joke. He was a good seminary roommate. Celie and I enjoyed many weeks at the beach with David and Karen and other friends from our seminary years. We will certainly miss David, but rejoice that he lives by the grace of God.

Karen and family,  my prayers are with you and all your family.  We shared a room together in seminary for a year and David introduced me to the girl I married.  He was such a good friend through the years.  Yes, God’s  Grace is sufficient for us all.  He now enjoys the benefit of God’s Grace.
