Catherine J. Wren

Daughter of Emma (Reeder) and Albert Buchanan.

Born in Brooklyn NY on Nov 7th, 1920.

Later, she resided in Ozone Park, NY until her later teen years when she moved upstate to the Catskill Mountain region.

During the war she worked at various positions, taking pride at whatever task was assigned to her.

Subsequently, she found her calling when she became employed by the NYS Department of Justice where she served for many years until her retirement in 1983.

Shortly thereafter, she relocated to Largo Fl, a decision that she never regretted. There, she made many friends and was always on the go. She was quite an accomplished artist, and had a touch for creativity with most anything put within her reach. More than all this though, was her capacity to take a genuine interest in how one was doing and in caring for those who meant anything to her.

Catherine is survived by her dear friends, Paul and Colleen LaFalce from Delmar, NY, several distant relatives and her sweet feline Molly.

Catherine's wake will be on Tuesday Oct 10th from 4 to 7pm at Serenity Funeral Home located at 13401 Indian Rocks Road, Largo FL. Her funeral service will on Wednesday Oct. 11th at 1pm at St. Patrick's Church in Largo.

Paul and Colleen send their special thanks to Dr. Joseph Schwartz and his staff, to Suncoast Hospice, and the wonderful owner / operator and staff of Indian Oaks Assisted Living Facility. Also, we extend our gratitude to Cathy Schultz and to Sandra Showalter for their ready assistance to Catherine during her declining years.
