If there was a moment during the last 55 years when you found yourself “walking on sunshine,” there’s a very good chance it was because you crossed paths with the irrepressible Anne Marie Semancik, who made her favorite catchphrase a way of life. Anne Marie died peacefully on February 18, 2014, surrounded and embraced by her siblings and loved ones at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, Florida. Anne Marie was born at Pittsburgh’s Mercy Hospital on June 27, 1959 to the late Frank and Blanche Semancik of Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania. She attended Mon Valley Catholic High School and Robert Morris University. Anne Marie resided most of her adult life in Indian Rocks Beach, Florida where she loved the water, the sun, and her wide community of friends and family. To know Anne Marie was to experience firsthand bravery, strength, and a limitless appreciation for life’s gifts despite its obstacles. She is survived by her eight siblings, Kathleen Calcek, Connie Glasgow, Judy Dodds, Frank Semancik, Helene Roybal, Lisa Semancik, John Semancik and Rich Semancik, as well as too many in-laws, cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews to list here but who are not forgotten. Friends and family will be received at Serenity Gardens Memorial Park, located at the Moss Feaster Funeral Home, 13401 Indian Rocks Road, Largo, FL 33774, on Friday, February 21st from noon until 1pm, followed by a brief memorial service until 1:30. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Anne Marie’s name to Morton Plant Hospital Memorial Giving Program (727)461-8655, 1200 Druid Rd. South, Clearwater, Florida 33756
