Alton Evans

Evans, Alton L. 80 of Indian Shores died Tuesday, January 15th. Born March 9, 1932, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, he was the son of Arthur and Beatrice Whitmore Evans. Alton worked 37 years for General Electric retiring as Manager of the Salt Lake City Apparatus Service Shop in 1992. Alton is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Geraldine Evans, of Indian Shores, whom he married January 14, 1951, daughter Cheryl (Chris) Smitley of Defiance, Ohio, daughter-in-law Joletta (Jim) Suchey of Lone Tree, Colorado, brother Gordon Evans of Ft. Collins, Colorado, granddaughter Kyle Smitley of Defiance, Ohio, grandsons Troy (Julie) Evans and Robert Haines of Denver, Colorado, great grandchildren, Ty, Tanner and Jocelyn Evans of Denver, Colorado. Alton is predeceased by his son Richard Evans. Alton served in the US Navy from 1951-55. He was a member of the VFW and The Elks in Minnesota.
