Victor G Horvath

Born December 29, 1920 in Loraine, OH, to Samuel and Bertha (Dokus) Horvath, passed away September 29, 2011 at the age of 90. Mr. Horvath served in the U.S. Army in the China Burma India Theater, as a surveyor building air fields during WWII receiving the Good Conduct Medal and the Bronze Star. Having received his Master’s Degree from MSU in forestry he went on to work for the State of Michigan with the Department of Natural Resources for 30 years. He was a faithful member of the Plymouth Congregational Church serving on various boards and as an usher. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, William (during WWII) and Edward Horvath. Surviving are his beloved wife of 60 years, Jessie M. (Markham) Horvath; son, Brian D. (Lori) of Lansing; brothers, Rev. Dr. Theodore Horvath of Wayne, PA and Dr. Fred (Karen) Horvath of Sammamish, WA; sister-in-law, Marilyn Horvath along with several nieces and nephews. As per Mr. Horvath’s wishes cremation has taken place. Interment will be at Fort Custer National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to the Memorials Foundation, c/o Plymouth Congregational Church, 2001 E. Grand River, Lansing, MI 48912 in memory of Mr. Horvath.
