Steven Robert Christie, 44, of Lansing, Michigan, passed away on January 17, 2024, in Lansing. Born on November 30, 1979, in Lansing, Steven was the beloved son of Michael and Jacqueline (Stevens) Christie. He is survived by his brother, Michael Joseph Christie Jr. (Angela) of Holt, MI, and his nieces, Amelia Rose Christie, Avery Violet Christie, and Arielle Jasmine Christie, all of Holt, MI. Steven also leaves behind his aunts and uncles, Erwin Christie (Tina) of Fort Wayne, IN, Rosemary Baldwin (Scott) of East Lansing, MI, Theresa Oberley of Fort Wayne, IN, and Lorrell Frederick (Richard) of Tawas City, MI, as well as many cousins and friends.
Steven was an exceptional individual, known for his athletic prowess, intelligence, humility, and motivation. He attended Lansing Catholic High School and went on to pursue higher education at Michigan State University. He obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Finance and later received his Doctorate of Law Degree, both from Michigan State University. Throughout his college years, Steven was a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity.
In addition to his academic achievements, Steven also excelled in sports. He was a three-time All-Star player in baseball, basketball, and football. As a shortstop, he played a pivotal role in leading his team to a State Championship in baseball. Steven's talent and dedication earned him the title of captain and the Most Valuable Player award in football. He had the privilege of participating in various baseball World Series games, including the Palomino World Series in Charleston, South Carolina, and the Colt World Series in Lafayette, Indiana. His skills were so impressive that his coach Frank Deak from DeWitt, even believed he had the potential to secure a baseball scholarship for college.
Outside of academics and sports, Steven had an entrepreneurial spirit. While attending law school, he started a printing business for his fraternity, showcasing his drive and initiative.
Steven's passing leaves a void in the lives of all who knew him. He will be remembered as a remarkable individual who achieved success in various aspects of his life. His memory will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and the countless lives he touched.
