Born to Leland & Dorothy Taylor, Shirley was born and raised in Lansing, Michigan. Smitten immediately, she married her one true love, Victor Zischke, on December 12, 1970. Shirley was a proud graduate of Eastern High School. She devoted many years of her life to caring for children in her home and later entered the restaurant industry while also volunteering with the Red Cross. Shirley had a very generous heart and loved to give gifts, especially for a new baby. She could often be seen walking around her neighborhood with her loving husband of more than fifty years, making friends with all of her neighbors.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Vic Zischke and her children, Debra Kay Dominguez, Coleen Jean Goddard, Steven Allen Zischke, Sharon Ann Vanlandeghem, and Kimberly Louise Witek. She was blessed with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and even great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service for Shirley will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at 11:00 AM, with a one-hour prior visitation from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes Lansing Chapel, 900 East Michigan Ave., Lansing, MI 48912. Following the service, Shirley will be laid to rest in Gunnisonville Cemetery, 2000 E Clark Rd., Lansing, MI 48906.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Shirley's memory may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, Texas 75284 and the American Cancer Society, PO Box 6704, Hagerstown, Maryland 21741.
