Shawn was born January 11, 1956, the son of John "Pat" Moynahan and Constance (Culver) Moynahan whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Brian Timothy Moynahan, and a nephew (Godson), Ryan Patrick Moynahan.
Shawn was employed by the State of Michigan as a computer analyst.
Shawn's love for music started at an incredibly youthful age. His artistic talents led him to obtain a bachelor's degree in music from Olivet College. Music further allowed Shawn adventures in his life; he could play any instrument that was placed in front of him, but his true love was the flute. He was also gifted with an incredible singing voice that many people enjoyed. He was actively involved in theater including Riverwalk Theater in Lansing and Burt Reynolds's Florida Theater in Jupiter, Florida and the privilege of singing with the Lansing Philharmonic Orchestra. He also loved painting, drawing, and sewing.
Shawn is survived by his spouse of 31 years, Douglas James Chase. Brothers and Sisters, James Michael (Mary Helen) Moynahan, Kevin Patrick (Barbara) Moynahan, Kathleen Ann Moynahan, Theresa Constance (Michael) Goduto, Patricia Eileen (Michael) Glossop, and Shannon Marie (Gordon) Sullivan. Children, Tiffany Chase, Amber Chase, Brook Rice, Dale Rindfleisch, and Kimbirly Rindfleisch. Grandchildren, Carmen (Tate) Borst, Hayden Simeus, Sydney Simeus, Austin Simeus, and Oliver Simeus. Many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, January 30, 2023 at 11a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, 345 Edwards St., Grand Ledge, MI 48837, family will receive friends 10-11 am. at the Church.
