Serenity Dawn Allen

Serenity was born on December 6, 2001 in Lansing, MI to Craig Allen and Katherine (Johnson) Wilke. All of her family was thrilled at her arrival. Her family then expanded, she added her loving stepmom, Kelli Allen and loving stepdad, Joshua Wilke. She had five siblings, Rebecca Wilke, David Wilke, Paige Allen, Lily Allen, and Chloe Wilke. She will also be deeply missed by her grandparents, Dave and Andrea Johnson, Debbie Allen, Dave and Jo Wilke, Helen Simons, Julie Soltis, and Peggy and Peter Stonebanks. She had many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She had more friends than she knew. Her life mattered and had value to those who knew her.

She was a senior at Waverly High School. She was an active member of the Waverly Marching Band and also involved in Girl Scouts. She enjoyed art, music and anime. She was a light in the lives of many and would always be willing to help a friend or family member in need. She struggled with depression and overcoming her anxiety. She lost this battle on September 6, 2019 at her home in Lansing, MI. She has joined her Grandpas Dan Allen and Craig Wightman in heaven as well as her Grandma Mary. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her. She has left a Serenity sized hole in all our hearts.

In her own words “I am fiery. I am smart and kind. I am a rebel and punk. I’m social and unique. I’m into K-Pop, metal and cartoons. No one can judge me for what I am or like. There’s no one I’d rather be than me.”

Everyone is asked wear their Hawaiian shirts, or Waverly High School shirts, or other school shirts are welcome to Visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Wednesday in the Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing. Services will be 12:00 Noon Thursday, September 12, 2019 at South Lansing Christian Church, 6300 N. Aurelius Road, Lansing, MI 48911 with Pastor Frank Weller officiating. Viewing will be from 11-12 Noon Thursday at church. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Waverly Band Boosters for the Uniform Fund in memory of Serenity Dawn Allen.
