Ronald LeRoy Dean, 85, passed away at his home in Lansing on Sunday, November 10, 2019. Born July 10, 1934 to Paul and Harriet (Finch) Dean Sr., Ronald was a proud Air Force veteran who worked for many years at the GM plants in Lansing. He loved spending time with his family, getting together huge groups for backyard parties, cookouts, and holidays. He enjoyed NASCAR – specifically Dale Earnhardt Jr. – and MSU sports.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Joan Dean; his parents; and his sisters, Ida, Pauline, and Pat.
He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Joseph Dean, Thomas Dean, Veronica (Donald) Marshall, and Tracy Dean; his grandchildren, Steven, Casey, Tony, David, Delaney, and Amber; his thirteen great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Paul Dean Jr. and Betty (Roger) Theodorski.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 15, 2019 at 11am at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, Lansing Chapel, 900 E. Michigan Ave., in Lansing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, and on Thursday, November 14 from 5pm until 7pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers and in honor of Ron, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
