My prayers goes out to the family and friends of Mr. Barr. I had him as a Driver Ed Instructor at Harry Hill. I have him to thank for teaching me how to drive.

My Prayers and condolences to the entire Barr Family! Mr Barr was our track coach At Everett High in which this wonderful man taught us how to excel at the sport of Track and Field! I can remember all out track meets where he was there leading us on the winning path to victory! He had a coaching style that was like no one others and we enjoyed performing for him! At our CAC track meet,his wife Mrs Barr, would make us nice sandwiches and bring us plenty of drinks and snacks we could eat after our Events! I personally want to thank you Mr Barr for what you done for me! Teaching me how to sprint and long jump to where I was a 4x state champion in the long Jump ,High school all American and Earn a spot on USA World Junior Olympic Team my senior year in 1988 and then on to MSU to run Track for Coach Bibbs on a full ride scholarship!!You helped me reach heights to where most of my records are still standing! Thank you Coach Barr! I LOVE YOU and you will be truly missed R.I.P

Mr Barr wasn't my Drivers Ed instructor, but everyone knew him. I ran track he advised us on how to stretch, or throw a shot put. He was a wonderful person. I send prayers to his family at this time.

Mr. Barr was my social studies teacher in seventh grade at the old Everett. In high school (Everett) he was my track and cross country coach. I learned a lot of life's lessons through my association with him. He was a great guy as well as a great teacher and coach. He had a big impact on my life as I became a teacher and track, cross country coach also. The very first car I bought was a 1952 Pontiac that I purchased from him. I had no doubt buying the car because I knew he wouldn't sell a car with undisclosed problems,  and it didn't. My condolences go out to Kathleen, his lovely wife and supporter.

My condolences and prayers to the family of Mr. Barr.  He was my driver's ed teacher, which is why I am such a safe driver.  May God grant the Barr Family all the peace and love He has for you.

I had Mr Barr for drivers ed at Everett he was so awesome my brother and my son also had him for drivers ed. He was a blessing to everyone he met.

Mr. Barr was my track coach, and also my Driver’s Ed teacher.  My memory of driver’s Ed is that the other two in my car used to smoke pot in the car and tried to hide it with perfume or cologne.  After some time they both got kicked out of the class and I got the Olds Sierra all to myself to the whole hour!  Mr. Barr didn’t suffer fools.  He was a legendary track coach who led us to state titles in 83 and 85.  He got the best out of you.  He expected a high level of performance and got it.  He had a good heart.  I actually quit track after the first practice because it was so hard.  A few weeks later I got up the nerve to ask Mr. Barr for another chance.  I could tell he didn’t want to waste his time but told me “okay, but if you miss a single practice you’re off the team.”  I never did.  He often had an exasperated look on his face.  We used to blast our music during practice inside the halls of school and he would tolerate it but we knew it was eating him up for us whippersnappers to play such “garbage.”  I’m glad to have know you Mr. Barr.  You look like you have a great family.  Until next time….

Sorry to hear of his passing. Had him for Drivers Ed at Hill. My parents always said I was an excellent driver. And it was thanks to him. RIP😪

He was my coach for shotput and discus. He was a good and patient teacher. I’m glad he had a good long life. My condolences to his friends and family.

Mr Barr was my driver's education teacher. I think he did a very good job making sure all his kids drove safe. "Buckle up before you touch that key!" It still echoes in my mind.  He was firm but fair. He was also fun.  He pointed out I drove better in reverse than forward and didn't know how I would make that work on the road.  I hope he got as much out of it as I think a lot of us did.  Class of '84 had very good drivers,  because of him caring about us when we were teenagers.  👍   Thank you Mr Barr.

Absolutely one of the 3 nicest men I have ever met. Ron and his wife NEVER drove by my home on the corner without waving or stopping to talk. 
Ron and his wife have one of the most amazing work ethics I have EVER seen in human beings. An amazing and truly immaculate yard surround their home. All done by Ron and his wife. I believe I seen them out in the yard collecting the leaves before they hit the ground. Ron could often be seen driving up and down the street on his mower keeping the street  as clean also. 
But he was an incredibly happy man and the treats his wife cooked and baked for him, anyone would be happy and smiling all the time.
Me and my wife are going to miss him dearly.  Our loss is Heaven's gain.  
Not only an All - American at Michigan State, but more so as a human being and neighbor. Thank you for everything Sir...So nice to know you are pain free now.

I had Mr Barr as a drivers Ed teacher at Hill HS in the late 70s. He was a good teacher. I can still hear him over the two radios we had in our cars tell students to slow down… 
My best Mr Barr story involves my wife years after HS.
My wife would complain about my driving then ask, who taught you to drive anyway?
So I would of course respond “Ron Barr”
I had Mr Barr as a patient at Sparrow about 15 years ago. I told him the above story and he got a really good laugh out of it.

Mr. Barr was my driver's Ed teacher. He was a fun and caring man. He will truly be missed. My thoughts and sympathies are with his family and friends. You will be missed Mr. Barr.

My grandpa, Ronald Barr, was such a positive light on this earth. An active member at church, an educator, and coach. He found happiness within his family and volunteering. He is already deeply missed.
