Robert Lee Nelson

Robert "Bob" Lee Nelson, 90, passed away March 3, 2018. He was born September 3, 1927 to Carl John and Theresa O. "Ora" (Mixter) Nelson in Grand Rapids, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents and 9 brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Patricia; 3 daughters, Cathleen (Nicholas) Schrauben, Mary Jo (David) Fedewa, and Pamela (Robert) Jones; 2 sons, Carl J. (Jenifer) Nelson and Daniel F. (Greta) Nelson; 13 grandchildren, Jennifer Fata, Justin Warr, Stephanie Nelson, Emily Hartough, Liz, Alli, & Brian Fedewa, Monica, Robert, Chris & Marissa Nelson, and Matt & Meghan Jones; 7 great-grandchildren; and 4 sisters-in-law, and 1 brother-in-Law. Robert was a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and SERA Club of Michigan. He was an accountant for the State of Michigan in the Treasury Department as well as the Department of Education. He was an avid sportsman, spending many hours on the golf course in his retirement. Funeral Mass is 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at St. Gerard Catholic Church, 4437 W. Willow, Lansing, with Fr. Vincent Richardson officiating. Visitation will be Monday 6-8 PM with a 7:00 PM Rosary service at the Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw Street, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
