Robert Earl French Sr.

Robert Earl French, Born June 27, 1929, went home to be with his Lord and Savior in the early hours of Sunday morning February 26, 2023. Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years, Janice Lynn (Bos) French, his Father Earl French, his mother Margaret French, brother, Richard French, sisters, Betty Hargitt, Lucille French, Ruth Brown and Mary Brown.

Robert is survived by his children, Robert (Carolyn) French of Bellaire, MI, Mitzi (Dennis) VanCleve of Lansing, MI, William (Ann) French of Lansing, MI., grandchildren; Courtney (Jason) Stalter of Hollywood, MD., Richard French of Los Angeles, CA., Alexis French of Scottsdale, AZ., Melissa (Andy) Wilson of Lansing, MI., Denny (Rebecca) VanCleve of Oconomowoc, WI., Lindsey VanCleve of Potterville, MI., Nicole (Patrick) McPharland of Williamston, MI., and Benjamin French of Muskegon, MI. and 12 great grandchildren.

Robert led a life of devotion to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ which translated into a heart of contentment and gratitude. He was a devoted husband to his dear wife Janice and a loving father to his three children. He possessed a generous sense of humor and a gift for storytelling. His life told the story of what it looks like to follow Christ. Robert was a clear and steady light of Christ’s love to all who knew him.

A visitation for Robert will be held Friday, March 3, 2023 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 East Michigan Ave, Lansing, MI 48912. A visitation will occur Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 10:30 AM followed by a memorial service starting at 11:00 AM at South Church, 5250 Cornerstone Dr, Lansing, MI 48917, with Pastor Doug Phillips officiating. A luncheon will follow immediately after the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to South Church, 5250 Cornerstone Dr., Lansing, MI 48917, where Robert was a member for over 65 years.
