Robert D. Finney

Age 76, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on September 4, 2015. Robert was born on March 21, 1939 to S.D. and Estelle Finney in Dresden, Tennessee. Bob married Marilyn Vitovsky on June 27, 1959 and was happily married for over 56 years. Bob graduated from Lansing Eastern High School and was an active alumni member. Bob was a loyal MSU fan. He enjoyed golf, bowling, and most of all spending time with his family and friends. Bob touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity. Bob leaves his lovely memories to be cherished by his wife Marilyn (Vitovsky) of Lansing, MI; daughters Susan Finney-Cater of Mason, MI and Carol Finney of Lansing, MI; grandchildren Amanda, Benjamin, Dylan (Lindsay) Cater, Kurgan and Asha Huff; great-grandchildren Makayla Hostetler, Cole, Nora, and Willow Cater; brother Don (Marilyn) Finney; sister Sandra (Raymond) Barber; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, along with countless family and friends who were blessed to know him. Visitation will be held at Gorsline Runciman Lansing Chapel on Tuesday, September 8, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Gorsline Runciman on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 12:00 noon with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Deepdale Memorial Gardens 4105 Old Lansing Road, Lansing, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family.
