Dick was a graduate of Eastern High School, class of 1956 and Ferris Institute, class of 1959. He married Margaret "Rita" Degnan in 1959. They raised three loving sons.
Dick was President of Lansing Printing Company and a member of the Lansing House of Printing Craftsmen. He was a charter member of North Lansing Lions Club, serving as president from 1969-1970.
In addition to Rita, his loving wife of 57 years, Dick is survived by his sons Richard (Shirley) of Conroe, TX; Phillip (Wendy) of Clearwater FL; and James (Holly) of St. Charles, MO; and his sister Jean (Albert) Nelson of Coldwater, MI. He is also survived by his grandchildren Madeline, Jillian, Brett, Sam, and Max, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Dick and his father developed Lansing Printing Company into a successful business over 35 years. He retired in 1996. Dick was an avid golfer who loved fishing and traveling. For over 25 years, he enjoyed spending weekends with his family at their Canadian Lakes cottage. After retiring, he and Rita wintered in Fort Myers, FL. Dick was a family man who was always willing to help his sons with advice and support. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren, taking them on boat rides and playing games around the family table.
He was a true friend to everyone he met and will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.
A celebration of his life will be held July 3, 2017 at the Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing at noon, with visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. Burial & reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Dick's name to the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
